Polishing of resin screws for injection molding molds.

Polishing of injection molding dies (resin screws) using the "Unifinish" mold surface treatment machine.

Challenge: Hand polishing of complex shapes

Our screw manufacturing customer had been polishing the molds used to produce screws by hand. Because screws have complex shapes, it takes a considerable amount of time to completely remove the resin. In particular, polishing the base of the protruding parts (screw threads) of the molded parts by hand took about two hours per spot.

We received a request for advice on how to make the process easier and more aesthetically pleasing, including saving time.

Improve operational efficiency and save time with the Unifinish mold surface treatment machine!

Solution: Use Unifinish
As a result, the process was reduced from 2 hours to approximately 3 minutes!

Therefore, we introduced our Unifinish product and conducted a test in our showroom.

When we used Unifinish to treat a screw manufacturing mold, we were able to polish an area that previously took two hours to polish by hand in about three minutes.Polishing time reduced to approximately 1/40th!

The media used in this experiment had a particle size of approximately 45 μm. This allowed the media to penetrate even intricate and complex shapes, ensuring thorough processing.

Furthermore, a key feature of Unifinish is that the surface is processed to have a textured (grained) surface in 1μm increments, which improves the lubricity of the resin.Improved mold release properties are also expected.Available

Our customers were very satisfied, as they were able to expect not only a solution to their problems but also improved release properties. Currently,UFN-55COMBOThey use it every day.
